| I'm interested in getting a Sprint Power Vision data plan through the business user promotion being offered. However, I would prefer to get it with the Kyocera KPC650 that's been so positively touted on this board. I've read indications that Sprint would make this card available sometime this fall. Is there any realistic chance that it could enter the retail channels by the end of this year? |

From what I have heard, the KPC650 has been approved by Sprint Labs for use on their network.
It looks like Sprint will offer the PC5740 next and I would guess the KPC650 after that.
Unknown on the date, but QTR1 06 is probably a good guess. _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |

Do you think sprint will officially support the Mac with this card?
Thanks |

I hope so. But we will have to wait and see.
Sprint usually writes their own software for communicating with connection cards. Verizon usually contracts out to Smith Micro to write it. I have heard that Smith Micro charges $25,000 to license their software. So, would it be easier for Sprint to write their own, or license Smith Micro? Going Smith Micro would be faster and easier.
The other factor, is training sales and support guys on the Mac. Does Sprint want to make this commitment? Again, I hope so, but time will tell. _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |
