OK ladies and gents, I noticed someone posted a new topic about a vs. with the slingbox so I thought this would be helpful too.

Slingbox (Sling Media)
VS
Location Free TV (Sony)

with both you can watch your television from anywhere there is an internect connection.

Sling box- send dvd player, tivo, or cable to any computer on your network.
If you're wireless, you could send it to your notebook or even to a remote location thru the internet.
It has 2 independant inputs.
Very easy set up: Send Video in and out to your tv. Then install the software on your computer and you're all good to go.
price: $249.99
Cons: does not have built in wireless, and cannot connect to a PSP. (for those game fans). One less video input than the Location free.

Sony Location Free- Same basic principle.
Comes with built in abg wireless so if you dont have a network at home, now you do.
It has 3 independant inputs.
Can connect to a PSP with the latest firmware.
price: $349.99
Cons: No video Output so cant watch tv at the same time with the older model dvd's. Video quality just not as good as slingbox. Price.

-------- The Slingbox produces much richer colors and is easier to set up. Also the price is 100 bucks cheaper. Dont be fooled by the all in one network, you can now get a good router for around $40 bucks. Smile Alas Slingbox wins! (from my point of view)
