I have been having non stop problems with xbox live for the last 2 months. I have verizon evdo rev a with a um175 modem. I try to play call of duty on xbox live and my connection is constantly in the red! Before 2 months ago it was always in the green. I even bought an mbr1000 and it's still the same. I just tried playing again with a constant red bar connection so i checked my speeds at speedtest.net and my download was 1.3, up was .65 and my ping was 90ms. But i have noticed that sometimes late at night my speeds will drop to .2 down and .1 up which is just rediculous. But why am i getting constant lag even when my speeds are good? I'm on the verge of just canceling verizon because the only reason i have it is to play xbox live.

higher ping=more lag, as people come and go from your neighborhood with their 3G/EVDO devices, more bandwidth and higher latency will be seen.

you can try relocating your modem/router to get better signal.
