Anyone have problems loading Bing or Google Maps using alltel evdo? It happens to me when I'm using the Alltel data card but I also have a VZW datacard and it loads there just fine. I'm sure there are other sites that don't load but I haven't found anymore.
I'm in a divested market if that matters. |

I'm having a problem with yahoo and facebook. If I kind of wind around the address, it's ok, but I can't hit them with their normal address.

Same thing here. Can't even load yahoo as well as a bunch of others. Don't know if it has anything to do with moving over to Verizon?

I'm going to try setting up my card with Mobile IP off (EC168) to see if there's any difference. I wasn't getting Mobile IPs like my phone was at first, but now I am getting that range of IPs, and it seems to have come along with the problems with Yahoo and others.

I am experiencing the same problem in Northern Michigan.
It started Friday night after 7 or so when I couldn't access Yahoo home page with IE7, but I could access it with Mozilla. With IE7 the page timed out everytime I tried.
By Saturday, I couldn't get to Yahoo with either IE7 or Mozilla. I could still get to yahoo mail by using the direct address, but the front page was gone. I also couldn't open a few other sites, although sites like youtube and Google seemed to work fine.
Today I'm having no problems reaching any pages. Yahoo opens perfectly on both IE7 and Mozilla. Everything is back to normal. I had the same problem last weekend although not as bad.
I wonder if this has something to do with the amount of traffic on the tower eating up more bandwidth than Alltel has available? The timing would seem right for it. |

I don't know if traffic would have anything to do with it yet, because the tower here in Central Nebraska is all that there is for Alltel or Sprint (roams on Alltel). There's no verizon presence here until the merger is complete. So, traffic wouldn't be any different on this tower. However, everything seems back to normal. I happened to turn off Mobile IP, but it seems that they got it running as I did that.

I'm curious if everyone else with this problem is only noticing it on certain days of the week?

Don't know...this is the first time I've seen it. I figured it had to do with conversion to VZW.

I just had the problem again, to the point that I couldn't even access this website. It last for about 5 minutes and now all is well again. Strange.

I read on a different forum that Alltel was having DNS problems this past weekend in certain markets.
