Tethering Performance

New to the site, and not super tech savvie, have a question.

Live in a rural area, currently have hughesnet, looking to replace with verizon.

Wondering if I get a Blackberry with no voice plan, but unlimited data and tethering, and a Cradlepoint MBR1000 will I really have "unlimited" data, meaning no 5GB max.

Also, can anyone provide evidence that connection speeds/ping times are better or worse using this method vs normal air card in the router.

Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.

Could I get away with it on any other carriers?

there are some known ways around it. we aren't willing to post them. others might.

just understand that even if people are "getting away with it" now, that doesn't mean they will forever.

they may get slapped with a surprising bill one day.

I didn't mean to imply by doing anything sketchy, just if they didn't have overage charges.

I couldn't pull that off anyways.
