I'm about ready to throw this MBR1000 in the trash! I have completed the setup okay I think because I have been able to connect at times. I'm just tired of not knowing if it is going to work "this time" without getting "WAN device not found"! Indications are that the laptop recognizes the mbr1000 but 90% of the time when I open Firefox I get the no wan device message. The quick start guide is a joke and nowhere can I find step-by-step instructions for the procedures from turning on the unit with the usb modem in it and proceeding to connecting.
All I want to do is use my Verizon service and my Pantech 150 to connect so I have a wireless setup in the rv. Some unanswered questions:
Is the wireless switch on the back on or off for this connection..I'm assuming on?
The WPS switch...when do I use that if at all?
What is DNS Poisoning? Sometimes get that when I try to open my browser.
When I open my browser I get the "No wan device" most of the time.
Any pointers would be appreciated...I thought this unit was supposed to be a snap to setup and very dependable!

what firmware version are you using in the MBR1000?
(check your 'status' page to find out) |

Pantech 150? You may want to do a PRL update on that device. _________________ evdo-tips.com |

Did the Pantech150 update, did a reset on the MBR 1000 and started off and got the same results...No WAN device found... |

you mention using mbr1000 firmware 1.6...
prior to upgrading to that firmware version, were you having this issue?
if not, consider rolling back to prior firmware versions you were having success with.
in case you don't have that handy, all f/w for mbr1000 is here
while you're at it... start from a factory reset and ensure you don't have the problem using factory default settings.
once you have confirmed proper operation, then start changing the settings to suit your needs.
if all that doesn't fix your issue, i'd begin to believe that your UM150 has an issue. but i wouldn't jump to conclusions, i'd rule out router firmware and settings first.
hope it helps. |
