FYI, sprint is now charging $8.99 for seasonal standby, and will only allow it for 3 months. It used to be $5.95 for six months.

Jamus, thanks for posting this. We have confirmed this and unfortunately it is true!

We've updated our "Tip of the Week" on this issue as well: EVDOinfo Tip of the Week: Suspend Your Sprint/Verizon EVDO Service

I just put my card on seasonal standby, and the email I got confirming they did it included this bit of text:

"The monthly recurring charge for the Seasonal Stand-by Plan is $8.99.
You may remain on the rate plan for up to 6 months. After the duration of the 6 month period, if you do not call to select a rate plan, Sprint will automatically assign a current standard rate plan to your wireless account."

I got a letter in the mail today saying the same thing; the limit is 6 months, not 3.

Not sure why I got the letter; I suspended the card in August.
