First of all, I want to apologize if my thread here is a little bit out of context, but I need it badly and I can't find anywhere else..

1. Does anyone have the updated firmware for WRT54G3g-AT newer than 1.9.9.7?

2. Is it possible to flash the -AT to -ST and then vice versa?

That'd be all for now.
Thanks for your help Smile

It is possible to flash a -ST box to -VN and back, in theory the same could be done with a -AT box. I do not recall which forum I found the instructions in but all it takes is changing the header information in the firmware .bin file. I wanted to try the -VN firmware in my -ST WRT54G3G. I downloaded the -VN version .bin file, opened it with a binary editor ( available free on the web), changed the first entry from W3GS to W3GV, then saved the file with a new name. I then used the web GUI to load the newly modified .bin. Once that was complete, I rebooted the router.

It is always advisable to do a hard reset after flashing ANY new firmware. With the router ON, push and hold the reset button for 30 seconds, while still holding the button disconnect the power, continue to hold the reset button for 30 seconds, while still holding the reset button re-connect the power, continue to hold the reset button for 30 seconds, release the reset button. This will force the router to clear the NVRAM and default back to factory settings. In most forums this is called the 30/30/30 hard reset procedure.

Now you can re-enter any custom settings you desire. Do not attempt to restore from another firmware version's backup file. You will need to input any changes via the web GUI. This implies any custom settings you wanted in the previous version of firmware will need to manually recorded BEFORE doing the hard reset. I keep these types of settings documented in a separate file with screen-shots for future reference.

DISCLAIMER********** This procedure could potentially "brick" your router. I will not be held liable for anyone using any of the information listed above. Many (including me dozens of times) have used this type of procedure for flashing factory and/or modified firmware 1000's of times. Your results may vary! If your router is the only connection method to the internet, you may want to consider leaving your box as-is. ********************

Thanks for your explanation.
Do you have the newest firmware for -AT router? Or at least the web that still have it?

Thanks..

The firmware is available from the US Linksys/Cisco website in the Support section. I have not checked any of their offshore sites.
