|
|
| I had the bright idea to set up a wireless network in order to get my gaming consoles online. When i discovered my computer had no wifi access i bought a netgear wireless g usb 2.0 adapter. I thought this along with my cradlepoint ctr350 and verizon wireless pantec 175 um usb modem would work. The direction of the cradlepoint state to plug in the modem and it will commence to connecting. When I plug the modem into the cradlepoint nothing happens that i can see. The wlan and usb light up but I cannot connect to the internet and my gaming consoles cant find it. What am I doing wrong?(Besides not listing all of this stuff for sale) |

a) can you connect to the CTR350 via your computer? Wired or Wireless? If you can what does the status page show, i.e. does it indicate, at all, that the modem has been able to connect to the cellular network.
b) you consoles can't see the ctr350, most likely, because you need to turn off the user login page. |

a.if i connect the verizon usb modem to the usb port on the computer, connect to verizon....attach a cable to the wan port of the cradlepoint and to the back of the computer though the generic marcell yukon chipset base (broad band card?) then i can go through internet explorer to the cradlepoint router and set up password...ect but i cant connect toe router because as soon as i unplugthe modem from the computer i lose the internet connection. After all night trying to get this to work i'm either going to get some sleep or use the blasted components for target practice!!!!!
when i do this both of my gaming console can "see" the cradlepoint router but cannot connect to the internet. |

I'm confused. Why are you plugging the USB modem into the computer and not the CTR350?
Plug the modem into the CTR350. Connect to it via wired or wireless and then from your browser, go to http://192.168.0.1. Log in to the routers admin pages and set the CTR350 up the one you want it.
In order for your game consoles to work correctly you either need to disable the user login setting (Tools->User Login) or permanently authorize them under Status->Wireless.
With the modem attached to the CTR350, I would like to know what the Status->Device Info page indicates. |
