Talked with Verizon tech support and tried killing different drivers, etc. with no luck. Even traded cards with no help. Card displays Qualcomm 3G CDMA. Tech support suggests usindg a Kyocera KPC650. One post looks like that would work.

I ran into a similar issue on a different Compaq EVO model, but with a KPC650 Kyocera card. The PC card didn't enumerate properly within Device Manager with some weird error appeared with the laptop becoming sluggish until I had to physically remove card. However, I visited HP.com and loaded all updates for my model and after reboot, everything installed fine.

Never able to get the PC5740 Verizon (two different manuf) to work on Compaq Evo N610c XP Pro using help of Verizon support and Compaq support. Had to finally abandon the project and Verizon dealer took back cards with full refund less activation fees.
