Got your attention didn't it? There has to be someone working on an internal card like wifi, there's no reason it can't be done and it could be more effective by utilizing the built-in antenna wifi equipped laptops come with.

I think these cards will be available from computer manufacturers and Verizon by the end of the year.

That is a good idea.

An even better one, is have a mini PCMCIA card that has both EVDO and WiFi on the same card, same antenna. That would be awesome, especially as EVDO Coverage starts rolling out even more.

That could also work (easily) with both Windows and Mac laptops.

VZAccess manager does a great job of managing both wifi and EVDO on my 700m. If I'm running both, it will give me the option to swith from EVDO to wifi if I go into a hot spot and it lists every hot spot available as they come and go.

Frankly, it does such a good job, I had to toggle off wifi to get it to shut up but if I were in a dodgy area and needed access to both, it will be very handy.

I'm very impressed with the new version of Access Manager that comes with the V620.
