Hello everyone, I am in dire need of getting the two USB EVDO's i got from the States to work. I live in Ethiopia Addis Ababa and they just launched EVDO service on 800MH'z That's about the only thing i know about the network. I Purchased two EVDO's from eBay Verizon USB727 and Verizon AC595U. I took it to the Telephone company and they said they couldn't get to the configuration to set up the frequencies and channels and whatever else they have to change to make it work. That's where i need your help all i need is a step by step instruction how to get in to the configuration part to change it to the necessary numbers. I don't need to change the ESN or anything just to set it up so it works here. I ran an internet cafe with 12PC's and i am using Dial-up. I need to upgrade to EVDO as soon as i can PLEASE PLEASE help me.

It may be impossible. Many of the US networks are incompatible with networks in Europe, Africa and elsewhere. That's true of standard cellphones - most of the world is GSM, and the US and a few other countries are not, but I'm not sure about EVDO. Sorry I'm not more help - best of luck!

Hi,

I'm from Addis too. Well, i guess you are at dire , in there i don't think it's at 800mhz but 450mhz. Don't but the verzion or sprint EVDO... because it wont work here unless it's an unlocked one. I few days ago ordered an EVDO modem, i was lucky i got it for a very cheap price as the seller wanted to test if it works in addis or not. I will receive it in a week.
