So, does the CradlePoint OpenDNS Bypass Algorithm work with Sprint? I thought it did... and I just checked the OpenDNS test page for kicks and it appears as though it does not, even though the CradlePoint status lists their servers. I have a CTR350 with 2.4.2 and the "Enable OpenDNS ISP Filter Bypass Algorithm" box checked in Advanced -> Web Filter.

Ideas??

you mean, this page reports "oops" instead of checkmark?

it looks like you got your router from 3gstore... right?
i'd suggest you give their experts in tech support a call to see if they can confirm they see the same thing you do.

Thanks, I can't figure out what the issue is then...

So, is there a way to do the bypass on a computer alone?

nope, not that i know of. this "feature" was a joint effort by cradlepoint and opendns.

Can you please verify that you had OpenDNS test page working with Sprint service??

I have two CTR350s with two different modems/accounts, and I can't get it to work. It's not a browser cache issue.

Can you post or send a CTR350 config file or describe settings?

Do you think they found a way to prevent the bypass, but it is only applied to certain areas?

-- fresh reload of 2.4.2 firmware
-- reset to factory defaults, reboot.
-- confirm that opendns.com/welcome, takes me to /oops
-- turn on web filtering to 'default' with IPS bypass checked, reboot
-- reload opendns/welcome and it shows checkmark.

don't refresh opendns.com/welcome/oops because that won't redirect back to /welcome if opendns is in use. you have to force reload the page at opendns.com/welcome to see if its working right.

at least, thats what i had to do.

This is what worked for me when I set-up. Alex typoed saying IPS. Should have been put checkmark in to Enable OpenDNS ISP Filter Bypass Algorithm :

Doesn't work for me. Did those steps exactly. Tested on multiple PCs & browsers.

I have two CTR350s, a Sprint/Novatel U760, and a Sierra/Sprint 598U and I get the same results with any combination.

Ideas?

Well, I just got this to work with my CTR500 and a Sprint 597 card.

Entering just the OpenDNS servers on the router did not work. I had to go to the Web Filtering panel and turn on OpenDNS. That didn't work at first either. I had to use the ISP bypass and reboot the router.

Then it did work.

But one caveat: once you have gotten the Ooops! page, be sure to go back to http://opendns.com/welcome

I found that pressing reload on my browser didn't reload THAT page; it merely reloaded the Ooops page.

I finally got this to work, but with the bypass on and working, the Internet disconnects and reconnects or sometimes just stops working every 5-10 minutes. I have 5 bars of signal strength and the connection will stay up for days at a time with no problem when the bypass is disabled.
