|
|
| When I connect to the MBR1000 and I have no internet activity, no browser open, I'm getting polled every second on/off. I have a second netgear router and it doesn't do this, my connection stays off so I know it's not my PC. When I go into the MBR1000 statistics page, the activity is only on the WLAN side and is not sending anything to the internet. Anyone know how to turn this off. I've seen at least one other user ask this question with no resolution. |

| When you are sitting on the statistics page, the browser is hitting the router every second to update the statistics. So it is your browser that is polling the router, not the router polling your computer. |

| Actually on the statistics page it is continuously lit. This happens with no browser open at all. I have some more information too. When I open my connection properties, I am receiving one packet every second with no transmit. I believe that the router is polling for some reason. |

| If you are really curious, you'll have to run wireshark and grab a trace to see what it is sending out. |

I contacted Cradlepoint tech support and received this reply:
Richard,
It appears that the activity you are seeing is related to the beacon interval, and is a function of all Wi-Fi devices. Some devices may not activate the icon, but activity is still occurring.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
