|
|
I have a CTR350 and just bought a lap top with wifi.
I notice that I get a good signal from some parts of my house and not others. Is there a way to boost this?
What is the range supposed to be from this router?
I also have a lynksis router that i am not using. Is there any way to run the signal from the CTR350 through the Lynksis router that has antennas?
Thanks in advance |

Are you referring to your WiFi signal or the actual cellular signal to your aircard?
If you are referring to the WiFi range, unfortunately the CTR350 does not offer the option to add a WiFi booster to extend the range.

Most CTR350 users see a WiFi range of 60-100 feet, depending on walls and interference. What sort of performance are you getting right now?

Yes, it is possible to connect your CTR350 to a second router. It looks like you purchased your CTR350 from 3Gstore - send an email to support "at" 3gstore.com with your invoice number and we will email you the PDF that explains how to do this |

| That was my first thought as well. My thinking was to use an Ethernet cable to connect to the CTR350 and have that outputted signal go to the Linksys router (through the provided Ethernet port). |

seriously...this is silliness! I've been having this exact problem with my CTR500 for a year and would love a solution. I have 2 WIFI routers I could use in this way...how do you do it??? |

there are a couple of ways.
Easiest is the double nat.
Set the ctr350 to allow the lan jack to access net. Plug a cable into the wan port of the other router. Name the wifi something different. Set up the second router to use 192.168.10.x (or some other private network range) Voila! You now have a stronger wireless.
Downside, vpn passthrough doesn't work well. And gaming is a pain to setup.
I won't get into the other way as it really is dependent on your router, its firmware, etc... |

| sure enough, plugging a router into the LAN jack with the default settings worked just fine! I like this cradlepoint setup more and more...new firmware updates to the web admin are good and it just works. |
