Fellow Forum Members...

Can anyone tell me what a blinking Data LED signifies?...It seems to bear no correlation to the color of the Taskbar icon (green or amber) nor to the data flow symbols as displayed on the connection manager dialog box...And it seems to have no correlation to the signal strength which is typically between -96 and -105db...The power LED is always solid green.

I've found no info in the Sierra Help section nor specific discussion of this subject here within the forum discussions.

Btw, for those who may be reading this and have experienced signal strength issues in particular locations, I have experimented with a 3-foot USB cable in fringe locations...With the ability to move the modem up and or/to the sides of the laptop, I can often measurably improve the capture by 6 or more db...FWIW.

This modem is used on the Sprint EV-D0 Rev A network.

TIA

Bruce

according to Sprint's official user guide for the 595u:

Quote:
Green, blinking slowly: The USB modem is powering up, or no service is available. See “Searching for Service”
Green, blinking rapidly: The USB modem is sending or receiving data.
