|
|
Even though the web admin on the Sprint MiFi doesn't offer the RSSI info that is available on the Verizon MiFi, 3Gstore.com's tech experts have known how to retrieve the RSSI from the Sprint MiFi and used our knowledge to help 3Gstore customer's troubleshoot signal issues they may have been having.
Novatel has just released their MiFi API on their developer's lounge, and after a quick look through it, even the API does not make the Sprint MiFi's RSSI known to web admin.
The Novatel API uses OpenCGI to provide a CGI/URL which when properly "parsed" will give the RSSI/Signal as a value between 0 and 5, just like the signal bars represent via web admin bars -- not that useful for anyone trying to work through signal problems.
3Gstore has decide to let the Sprint MiFi community in on our "secret".
Once you are successfully logged in to Sprint MiFi web admin, use this URL:
http://192.168.1.1/modemstatus.html
and you should be presented with your MiFi's true RSSI info (among other things):
| Quote: | MDN: 847xxxxxxx
ESN (decimal): 0911xxxxxxx
ESN (hex): 3GALEXWASHERE
Channel: 325
P_REV Indicator: 6
PRL ID: 60752
Band Class Type: 1
ERI Version: 3
Dormancy: TRUE
Signal - EVDO: -88 dBm
Signal - 1X: -91 dBm
Battery Level: 4
Battery Charging: 0 |
For those of you with MiFi's that are operating under weak cellular signal, don't forget about our "Tip of the Week" on ways to improve signal to a MiFi:

Great tip!!!!!
The problem RSSI is not the only metric that needs to be measured. Signal quality is as important, and PN dominance.
Is there a way to get in touch with the developer of the app to add these fields? |

I apologize in advance if the answer to my question is in one of
the other forum topics but I looked and could could find it; with my
Sprint Mi Fi 2200 I'm getting an RSSI value of -67 to -78; -67 when I
place it carefully in a certain direction by a large window; is -67
considered a good or excellent signal level for the 2200? |
