Over the past coupl eof weeks my tx rate has slowed dramitically. I used to download at rates of 140 - 300 kbps, wheras now I am only at 10 - 20 kbps. When I run a speed test i see 0.20 mbps max, while another computer right next to me is seeing DL rates in excess of 1 mbps. Addiotionally, my upload is only at 0.18 mbps, other computer was at .300 mbps.

I have a Pantech 5750 PCMIA card and a truly unlimited account through a corporate deal (I have never been chared any more than my standard rate). Other computer was UMB175

Is have the latest VZ Managaer software and have never had this issue before now.

Is there a way to tell if my transmission rate is being capped by big red

P.S. I have ran this test in multiple locations so it is not a tower specific issue. I have also had poor data transmission rates at varying signal strengths - 80 - 95 db

Any help would be appreciated - I am not looking forward to the call to tech support and I am quite sure I will get a correct answer from this site anyways

Not likely you've been capped if your best d/l speeds have been 300 kbps.

There is a problem either with your modem or computer. If you've taken it to a different location, and the results are the same, that is what I'd suspect.

Thanks Jim (I'm in Gloucester, VA by the way), I would believe the problem is with the modem possibly as when the aircard is installed in my router speed is slow on all of the computers.

Now, I have another coworker who has a Pantech 5750 who is getting the same slow data transmission on his computer as well, almost exactly the same rate as I. I looked at his usage and he was over the 5GB over the past 30 days. It seems afwul strange that both of us are having the exact same transmission rates while the third party that has the UMB175 (and has no where near th 5GB in past 30 day) is getting 5x better data transfer than both of us.

I guess i'll keep working on this - my guess is that if I am correct, my rate will increase within a couple of weeks and pretty much solidify my thoughts.
