It is too bad that the only the folks with the yellow ticket are offering Virgin Mobile Broadband2Go.
While the service is a bit pricey for steady users, it might work well for casual users - http://web.virginmobileusa.com/broadbandPlans.
The $20 for an expires in 30 days, 250 meg plan might be good for casual users.
Apparently Sprint is their network provider. |

|
|
I am considering the Virgin Mobile Service for my casual needs. Can anyone confirm that it is Rev A? I know the device is, but I am not sure if Virgin offers Rev A.
What about the MC760? I know the CTR-350 supports the 760 on Sprint and Verizon, does anyone know if it will work on the Virgin version?
Last question. The Novatel website states that the External antenna port is an option for the service provider on the 760. Sprint and Verizon both offer that option. Anyone know if the Virgin Mobile version does?
Thanks for the help.

I just got one of these devices.
1. It is the Novatel MC760 with an antenna port.
* A Wilson 359921 connector fits - same as used with my enV3 and old u740. Which is very nice.
* I have already lost the rubber plug. I guess our cats will have a new toy.
2. The software is on the device but it is ONLY Windows based.
3. Virgin Mobile's broadband service has been down for over 24 hrs - 17 Sept 2009
* I have not been able to activate my modem.
* This morning tech support told that even if they manually activated my modem I would still not be able to connect. Good thing that my Sprint service is still active!
4. While Virgin Mobile broadband supposedly uses the Sprint network.
* Their modem is only connecting as 1xRTT.
* In the same location Sprint is Rev A.
5. There is a micro SD port so you can use it as a USB memory stick.
I use an SD card in my laptop's SD card reader as my data drive. This is a lot faster than a USB memory stick. And it gives me removable, solid state, storage of my data files. Just be sure to tape the SD card in place, they do like to pop out when pressed. |

See EVDOforums.com Forum Index -> Sprint EVDO Service (Mobile Broadband & 1xRTT) for details on what I found.
Since Virgin Broadband's activation and service has been down for over 24 hrs, I have a good reason to return the Virgin modem. |
