This thread in dslreports.com clarifies cap issue with Clearwire/Sprint 4G service. Apparently, Clear is saying excessive usage at some level beyond 120GB may result in throttling. Good news for those in Clear cities.

Don't worry they will replace throttling with overage charges as soon they realize all the money they could be collecting.

Let's brush away frustrations and bias from our Sprint experience to consider two important differences.

4G is touted as a replacement for wire broadband; not a supplement to it. That makes it essential to permit much higher leves of usage.

4G is several times faster (just check the speeds at http://4gmaps.com ) and web traffic is more complex and byte laden. Providers of tomorrow will have to offer more data volume to survive. Even Sprint will ultimately raise its caps to delay the drain of data customers as it becomes more difficult for us to live within 5 GB. Though Sprint hates to consider it, many of its data customers use it as their primary provider and supplement its service with free Wi-fi in schools, coffee shops, the neighbors' routers, etc.
