Uh - - this is way more technical than I can understand.
Now I have a Verizon USB727. I use the Mozilla Thunderbird e-mail client to hook into my AOL e-mail account. (imap.aol.com)
smtp.aol.com is my outgoing e-mail server setting.
Does this announcement mean that won't work any more after August? _________________ WVBill |

you'll be fine because you aren't using Verizon's smtp service. _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas/Routers/Amps :: Verizon EVDO :: Sprint EVDO :: Why Buy from 3Gstore? |

| From what I remember, when I was sending e-mail via a mail client on the Verizon network I was only allowed to use smtp.vzwmail.net as the outgoing server. However, I have a family member that has Gmail that has their e-mail setup through Outlook, so I guess I need to get them changed off the smtp.vzwmail.net setting. Will the outgoing Gmail server work fine without any Verizon authentication? |

Since receiving my Verizon "shutdown" letter yesterday, I checked out the outgoing SMTP Gmail function and it works fine.
Verizon wouldn't have anything to do with Outlook mail settings after Aug. 29. |

Guess I need to get off my lazy butt and get T-bird set up to work with my Yahoo POP acct. |
