Why in God's name would you even get a Cradlepoint when you have a smartphone with both a 3G radio (EVDO/UMTS/etc.) AND wifi?

There are apps for WinMo and the iPhone that already accomplish the goal without the need for a Cradlepoint router at all. You might have to jailbreak your iPhone or something, but the opportunity for you to use your phone as a wifi router has been here for a long time already.

I really wish that Cradlepoint would have some regard for customers outside the USA. I have emailed them, with no responses. iPhone tethering is permitted in many countries, yet they continue to disregard the iPhone because AT&T doesnt allow it in the USA. I must suspect that supportig the iPhone would amount to a fairly simple software update and not some major hardware overhaul.

I can only imagine that this disregard for customers pervades their corporate ethos. I am glad I havent bought any of their products. I will continue to "scream at them" until I get some service. This is a real joke.

I have an iPhone 3gs which i have jailbroke. I used to use PDANET but you had to set up an adhoc network on your computer to connect. Untill i installed rockyourphone.com program which will do the jailbreak if you dont feel like doing it the traditonal way on the computer with blackra1n or pwnage tool. The rock app has an app called MyWi which is the best tether app out there. You can use 3g or edge for tethering. It will allow you to tether using wifi, bluetooth or usb. And it allows you to create a hotspot for several computers to connect. Just the other day i was at Sams club with my family and decided to see how many computers could to connect and we had all 5 of the laptops on display watching video on hulu. On the top of the app it shows the current usage of download and upload. It only took us about 5 minutes to burn up 100mb.. LOL I hope this helps..
