We currently have a Sprint EVDO card on the unlimited plan. When that aircard dies, we'll be forced into the 5GB plan which we will go over on.

I'm considering upping my regular cell phone to a smart phone in August and noticed that for $15 I can add a 5 GB plan to it. It says I can use the phone as a modem (and the phone I've picked out says it supports Rev A - the Samsung Saga).

So, could I use this as my full-time home internet access with 5 GB of useage? This is what it says:

Quote:
Turn your BlackBerry® or PDA/Smartphone into your wireless modem
5 GB($0.05/MB Overage) of data access for high-speed wireless Internet access! With Mobile Broadband Connect, connect to the Internet remotely using your device.

Basically, right now we're paying about $150 a month for 2 phones + internet. With this plan, I could get 2 smart phones, with 10 GB of download/upload for $190 a month. Under my current plan, if we upgraded to 2 smart phones, we'd be at $210 a month with the internet service.

That actually works? Without a tethering plan and with no data limit? Color me skeptical Wink
