I am looking for a mini laptop with PCI-e EV-DO card. It has to be based on some other chipset than Gobi. I have not been able to find one and thinking to puchase mini laptop and card separately. Is somebody using for example Lenovo PCI-e card with mini laptop manufactured by somebody else?

I think I found it. Dell Inspiron minis come with mobile broadband option. Could someone confim if it is Gobi or not? At least specs about the card didn't mention it, so I am assuming that it is CDMA/EV-DO only.http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/products/Wireless_WiFi/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=313-7884

No clue on that, sorry! But, I do have the Dell Mini 10 and really like it. Battery life isn't great though - the only real downside I've found. The battery life is 2.5 maybe 3 hours. Doesn't seem that odd to me because it's similar to my full size laptop (also Dell), but I see that other netbooks have significantly greater battery life.
