|
|
I'm in South/Middle GA.
I've been using Alltel EVDO for 2 years now, and have had a great experience with it.
I've downloaded movies, games, xbox live online play, mmorpgs, and pretty much anything normal internet users can do.
However I just got an email today from alltel saying that we are being divested to Atlantic tele-network. I've never heard of this company, nor do I know anything about them. I do have a feeling that we are about to get slammed with a cap, because everyone seems to be going that route these days. I know I use more than 5gs of data in a week much less a month. I'm not a bandwidth hog, I just do more than check my email a few times a day.
Anyone else get this letter and know anything about this company or whether our unlimited service will change? |

| Just got the final notice (via e-mail) from Verizon that I'm now "officially" transitioned into their service from Alltel here in north Mississippi. Looks like all of the "My Account" stuff moved over like it was supposed to... |

Also got the same notice, am now "officially" transitioned to Verizon. I called just to check things out about the account and was told nothing would change from what I had with Alltel. Everything was moved to Verizon and it seems from what they told me my services would also stay the same unless I upgraded or changed something. You can bet I ain't going to change a thing because I have data service on one cell phone and a EVDO Card with unlimited data service on both.
The strange thing is, everybody around me got divested to At&T. I am in a divested area but only two of us wasn't divested to At&T. I got no idea how we rated this but I'm happy about it.
By the way, it seems since the transition a few days ago Verizon has really ramped up the power on the tower I am logging into for RA. |

| I too got the letter saying I was now a Verizon customer. Also asked a guy at the Verizon store if my service would stay unlimited, he said yes. |

|
|
| Just got my first "official" monthly verizon bill for the same unlimited wireless broadband service I've had from Alltel for over a year -- and it was about $6.50 higher than Alltel. Yup, I pay $59.99 for the service and $5 a month for the device replacement/insurance coverage. My typical Alltel bill for all of that was about $66.63 a month -- and VZW wants a flat $73 per month. Lots of E911 and other voice-related stuff now appear in the bill that never did with Alltel. I called VZW and they stated that all of the charges on the latest bill were legit, and had no idea why Alltel didn't charge for them. |

| I just signed up for wireless internet service with Alltel back in July. If you have a My Account account sign in, click "merger information" at the top. You'll have some info about the Verizon/Alltel merger. I was curious about what would change when all was said and done. I,m in rural southern IL and Alltel had the better plan at the time and no cap. I went to the Atlantic Tele-Network site and there's some more info there. I hope nothing changes on my end. Good luck to all. |
