Leaves? Or Verizon?

UM175 modem, firmware is whatever the most current release is (don't remember the number), probably 4 miles from the tower without direct line of sight, rural lower Michigan.

About 3 weeks ago, my connection started to become obnoxiously slow. I had been getting consistently 1-2 bars, usually DO, occasionally RA or 1X. I bought an antenna, which boosted the signal to 2 bars, and made the connection more stable, but didn't really improve speeds that much.

Then all of a sudden, performance dropped like crazy. After about a week, I started messing with it. I updated the PRL, which now gets me 3 bars and constant RA, but performance now even with RA is worse than it used to be with DO.

Two things happened recently - the Verizon takeover, and leaves on the trees.

What sort of performance issues are other people seeing from tree interference? Is there any way to diagnose what the problem is? Any suggestions on what to try?

Check all the other Michigan threads, most likely not trees but their upgrade to Rev. A
