Seriously my Sprint U727 is very hot when I run it in my MBR1000. It runs just slightly warm in a regular USB port or USB hub directly into my pc.

I think it will not tolerate this much longer.

Guess I will call 3g store. I am surprised no one else has had overheating issues.

I had the same problem solved it with using a USB extension plug. Since I've gotten one each time I've bought a thumb drive as part of the package then it made it easy to separate the USB wifi device from the cradlepoint.

The bigger problem is WHY does the MBR1000 get so HOT. I unplug mine when not in use, it's too warm for my tastes (about like an older notebook computer (P4 variety).

The part of it is that an MBR1000 provides more power to the USB ports, so modems can use more power, and power = heat.

I wouldn't worry about it, I a U300 modems that has run as hot as 65 C in low signal conditions, and is very hot to the touch.

I've talked to the support people at Franklin and they said it is perfectly fine. I'd bet it is not a problem for this modem either.
