|
|
Ok, I have an external antenna, (http://3gstore.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=138_141&products_id=653).
I currently have this attached to my UM150 Verizon wireless antenna. I get a good stable signal and am quite happy with it.
I recently purchased a Blackberry Storm, and want to tether it to my pc so I can drop the UM150. The only problem is I don't have a strong enough signal without the external antenna to use the storm as a tether.
Is there a way I can inccorporate the current antenna into a system that will enhance the signal of the Blackberry Storm so it works for an internet connection like the UM150 does. (If the Storm had an external antenna port I wouldn't be having this problem, obviously)
Thanks for any help. |

I saw this in the description. So I just stick that on the back of the blackberry instead of needing an external antenna jack? It just sounds odd, thats all and I want to make sure I understand it. |

Hello,
That's right - it's a "passive" antenna adapter, meaning it doesn't require a direct connection (since the Storm doesn't have a port to connect an antenna directly).
The passive adapters are not nearly as effective as a directly connected antenna, which is why we highly recommend using the amplifier. Connecting an antenna straight to a phone with the passive adapter probably won't do too much, BUT adding an amplifier in line should provide you with a sizable gain. |
