I was told by Jim to hit CTRL-D while hovering over QLM then put in the password of diagsmsi and that it should bring up a tab to put it on HDR only.
But I only have Manual Activation, Mobile IP, and Field Test as choices. I was disconnected when I did it. It's showing -75 dBm on RSSI (1xEVDO).
I know its just locking on to the nearest tower which is just a 1x tower. Tech support said it was no possible but I really don't believe them. |

On the UL175 it's not giving me a option that gives you "automatic", "CDMA", and "HDR only" radio buttons to select from.
there is just manual activation, Mobile IP, and Field test and none of those have hdr only radio button. Mobile IP is the only one that gives me a choice of things and It's just Mobile IP Off, Mobile IP preferred, Mobile IP only. |

I'm using Version 4.8.4 on the quick link. Could it be I'm using a different version.
Mine didn't come with a CD it just installed when I plugged it up.
I'm trying to find a older version but so far no luck. |

Are you using the QLM software (version 2082f) that the Alltel download site recommends for your UM175? If that's not working, then you might try downloading from Alltel the QLM software for the UM150 (version 4.7.4 or whatever was in the link I sent you) and using that to see if you can get an option to lock your UM175 into HDR mode.
Warning -- I do not have a UM175 ( I use a KPC680), nor have I tried this myself. I simply mention it because I recalled seeing the post and the author apparently got it to work for his KPC680. Good luck... |

| The official Alltel software download site is http://software.alltel.com and it does have options for downloading UM150 software. |

| I have tried every way to get the other versions on, the problem once you plug in the UM175 that has the software inside of it. It can not be replaced. The UM150 driver would not ever acknowledge the the 175, and the software for 175 would get on but once I had to plug the device in, it would go to 4.8.4 |

install the software to different sub-directory than default or just copy the QLM program after it installs with an older version
or backup the um175 driver then remove program and install um150 then restore the correct drivers
either should work, and may be overkill if the drivers dont recognize the other device |
