Hi guys,
I agree with you runkittyrun lots of complaints and still no answers.
Bert65 according to the "About QuickLink Mobile" info I have PRL 41000.
Signal strength -80 dBm.
About four hours ago my signal was very erratic and is most of the time, Rev-A one second 1xRTT the next, 100% then 20%. Now it's been Rev-A and 100% for the last hour.
Last Sunday I was online most of the day w/ Rev-A and 100% and an average D/L speed of 1200 kbps, so what is going on???
I read somewhere the Alltel signal is going to come from AT&T towers now.
There is a AT&T tower 1.69 mi. from my location.
Catch you all later. |

| At&t is GSM, you wouldn't get anything with your current setup without getting a new card. Also they have a pathetic 3G service area and most likely you don't even have 3G coverage yet. |

I read on another thread about a member updating his bios that fixed his wireless connection problem.
I just checked and there is a newer version for my laptop and other new drivers.
Will be back after I give it a try.
Also looking in device manager I have six entries for USB Universal Host Controller, two for USB2 Enhanced Host Controller, eight for USB Root Hub, two for USB Composite Device and one for USB Mass Storage Device. Six are showing ten percent bandwidth system reserved, the other two twenty percent. Is this normal? |

First off hi i am new to the site. Been browsing for like 2 hours.
I'm in need of help with my internet. I have a Kyocera-KPC680 aircard plugged into a Kyocera KR1 router which is hard lined to my computer. Our Wireless internet service provider is Alltel. We also have a cell phone Antennae hooked up to the aircard to help with the signal.
My internet has been crap to say the least the whole time we've had it. We got it april of this year. Anyway the main problem is we get full bars like 95% of the time. That is when you look at the signal strength via the router through the computer. The problem is we get disconnected ALOT. Browsing this site I've probably been disconnected about 10 times.
My results from speedtest were [Download 0.22mbps] [Upload 0.17mbps] [Ping 137] [Distance 50 miles]
As you can see it is bad considering I'm on a EVDO 3G network. Last month for some reason we had better service then usual and now it is back to crap. Our usual speed when Downloading something is anywhere from 30-80kbps. Last month it got up to 100-300kbps and we never got disconnected it was like that for like 3 weeks.
I don't have any idea what is wrong with it cause i know about the whole merger ordeal taking place. But we have verizon cell phones and they work fine here at the house. So even if the Alltel tower was shut down. Why would we be getting pretty good Wireless phone service and horrible wireless internet.
Also when the connection does drop. All i have to do is reboot the router via the computer and the signal is back. But as you can imagine getting disconnected every 5-10 minutes is highly aggravating.
Edit: Also if you have a solution give it to me in as plain english as possible. I'm more tech savvy then the average person but i get lost in the tech speak.
Side note i live in michigan ZIP code 49319 if that helps solve anything. |

Hi guys.
Welcome Phoenix_Haze and I feel your pain.
Well I updated my bios in my laptop and that didn't help.
I ran the Alltel Wireless Internet program in 32 bit compatibility mode, that didn't help.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled the program for I think the fourth time.
For some reason on the last install my signal has been 100% and 1298 kbps D/L, 557 kbps U/L for the last hour and a half.
Before that my throughput would drop to zero for a minute or two but never did disconnect.
Well see you all later. |
