My KR2 would display many of the intermittent problems with dropping internet that are described on this forum. It would be especially troublesome after a power up of the router, and then a power up of the computers on the network. It would appear that it would power up and connect to the internet just fine, but then when you powered up a network computer and tried to connect to the internet, all hell would break loose. The router would drop the internet connection, and start trying to reconnect. It would take many many times before it was successful. It would even appear to reboot itself every now and then. And, if my wireless laptop tried to connect, it could never see the internet until after many reboots of the laptop.

THE PROBLEM IS NOW FIXED!

The problem wasn't the router. The problem was WINDOWS VISTA. For some strange reason, whenever my Dell desktop would boot up and connect to the router, the computers' network adapter would be disabled. I could call up the windows hardware manager, and look at the Broadcom network adapter, and it would tell me the device was DISABLED. My wireless HP laptop would do the same thing! The fix? I manually enabled the network adapter in Windows hardware Manager one time. After that, NO PROBLEMS. Every time I start the computers now, I can go to the Windows Hardware Manager and look at the network adapters, and they show to be ENABLED by default. I can now shut down and restart the computers, the router, or the whole network, and everything works fine. I've done it at least a dozen times in the last few days to make sure that was the problem. And, it appears that was the problem.
