Here is my situation. I get great service where I live in Mi. When I go down south signal is practically non existent (Sprint Service) The camp site I stay down there that has a router that lets there tenants log on to. I do not have a laptop, I will be taking my desktop. Can I use my u727 to pick up that signal (802.11g/b wifi). If so, how? Thank you

Nope, you should buy a USB Wifi dongle.

Why does my sprint smartview connection manager have a wireless connection mode and what looks to me like a wifi locator map

In my VZ Access manager when setting up it has the option to control the WiFi. All it does with mine is be another connection manager.

I would guess yours would act the same.
