I live in an area where dial up is the only ISP available. One mile up the road, Comcast is available at my parents house for around $50 a month unlimited cable internet. I subscribed to Verizons "unlimited" EVDO service with a USB727 modem. I am constantly going over the 5GB limit and my average bill is $250 a month which is rediculous. Here is my question....
If I was to put a computer at my parents house connected to Comcast and then connect to that computer from my house via Logmein.com or some other remote connection manager, would this solve my problem? I guess I need to know how much data is actually transmitted over a remote connection versus the real computer connection? Make sense? Or is there some other way of doing this using something like Windows Server at my parents house or something like that to share their Comcast connection?
