|
|
Hello Group
I have been having problems sending email using Outlook 2003 since my Verizon EVDO service began last year. Outgoing emails bounce back with 554 5.7.1 <XXX@XXX.XXX>: Relay access denied or I never connect to outgoing server. This problem happens Intermittently and I can't see any pattern at all.
My system: Excellent signal>>USB 727 modem >> Cradlepoint MBR1000 router, two PCs running XP Pro, Outlook 2003.
Called Verizon and they checked and rechecked my settings and assigned a problem number and over the walled it to "Network". After a week of hearing nothing from Verizon and still having the outgoing problem, I called back. Their response-- Network tried it and it worked -- case closed. I gleaned from talking to first tier customer service is that they have issues with their SMTP server and their working on it. When transfer to supervisor, the response became "We had a system problem and it was fixed. I don't know who or what to believe.
Question: Anyone else having the same problem? What is a work-around? What outgoing server does everyone else use?
Thanks in advance for your help!! |

| I have the USB 727 in the CTR350 and have no problem sending e-mails using Outlook Express on Windows XP. Have no idea what difference there would be using Outlook instead of OE. I have two gmail accounts, and have them configured to work with Outlook Express, since there is no e-mail server provided by Verizon wireless. |

I've never really had an issue with their outgoing mail server, what few times that I've used it. I assume that you know the drill in their authentication and whatnot:
Outgoing mail server: smtp.vzwmail.net
Server requires authentication
Username: aircardnumber@vzwmail.net
Password: whatever you set your password up to be through the Verizon site |
