Every day we get calls from customers asking if we can help with weak cellular signal, and not all our customers believe us when we tell them their modem has a little antenna jack that allows them to attach our high gain antennas to.

To help our customers understand what we already know, we've put together the "3Gstore Antenna Jack Locator" -- an index to modems that we've attached adapters cables to and taken pictures of.

I have a Verizon USB modem, adapter cable, and Booster Antenna w/cables for Verizon/Alltel UM175. However, the fit between the modem and cable is not tight nor secure at all. How do you keep the parts connected?

you might want to try squeezing the circular prongs together - i put them between two thumbnails and push in gently until they look like the picture below. or get another adapter cable?

sometimes, the quality control issue is on the modem itself and short of replacing the modem, there isn't much you can do.

some customers use tape to *gently* hold the adapter cable to the modem.

I purchased the adapter cable from Verizon for use on their USB modem. That could explain it...LOL. It just seems like an odd connector that will always have me wondering whether it's actually connected or not.

Thanks for the feedback.

Several days ago, I ordered an adapter cable from the 3G Store for a new Pantech UM290 aircard. This is to work with a Wilson Trucker antenna that I had purchased from them previously. I'm pretty sure that the adapter cable will be OK, but I won't know for several more days.

The adapter cable was shipped via FedEx Smartpost at a cost to me of $6.91. Evidently the "Smart" in Smartpost means cheapest for the 3G Store, not smartest for their customers. For less than $3.00 the cable could have been mailed USPS First Class and I would have received it by now. Or, for less that I paid for postage, it could have been mailed via Priority Mail and I would have received it even sooner. I feel that 3G Store has taken advantage of me since they probably are the only game in town for this adapter.

3Gstore.com is not taking advantage of you. We don't make any money when shipping via FedEx SmartPost. SmartPost does cost a few dollars less then regular FedEx Ground, BUT it does take longer to get to the destination.

We are in the process of adding USPS support for these type of smaller items and that should be ready next month.

If this has been ask before forgive me.
my brother has a at&t quicksilver without an external antenna jack
I would like to know how to hook an antenna to the quicksilver to boost his reception he keeps dropping out
we have upgraded the firmware, communication manager, and sim card now we think other than replacing the card with one that has such a jack
an external antenna is the way to go either by clip on or I've heard the case can be drilled to expose such a jack I just don't know where to drill.
thanks pete

pete, I would be very careful doing any sort of drilling - sounds like a disaster waiting to happen!

You can use a passive adapter to connect an antenna to your modem - passive adapters do work, but not as well as connecting an antenna directly to an antenna jack (they work about 50% as well).

Or you could replace the modem with one that has a jack - we do sell the AT&T USBConnect Lightning for $109.99

If you have a power bank with all good specifications but poor quality then it will going to be total wastage. Here, Quality means the material which is used for covering of power banks circuit and which is used in it’s designing too. I have written this point all because of the protection of the power bank’s circuit. For More visit.....
