|
|
I just purchased the Verizon V740, from a third party for use on my verizon account. I changed the SN on the verizon website, downloaded the updated VZ Acess manager, and installed drivers.
Th computer thinks the device is working properly. It blinks red even when we are in a strong signal zone. I tried to use the activation feature in the Access manager, and it says the activation failed.
The phone # that appears in my Access manager is different that the one that I have had with a previous card; is that normal?
What did I miss? |

I think that the seller is reasonably reputable, and the card was advertised as clean.
Is there any other possible reason for this situation?
Do I change the phone number on the card or on the verizon account? |

We see this all the time. Contact Verizon Data Tech Support and ask them to do a "Manual Activation". If the card is clean and everything is setup correctly with your Verizon account (e.g. your account is not past due), that should solve the problem.
Also, you can ask Verizon is the ESN is "clear". _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |

| It has to be de-activated until the end of the billing period of the person that de-activated it in, then it will be clear. |

One of the reasons that I purchased this card via a third party (not through Verizon) is that I do not want to re-do the contract with Verizon. I want to keep the current contract in place.
Does it seem likely that I will be able to ask them for a manual activation and have it not affect the contract?
Thank you. |

Yes, we talk customers through manual activation without involving Verizon all the time, it does NOT affect/change your existing contract, it is used to 'push' through ESN changes that are having problems the 'easy' way. _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |
