Surprised

So I need remote connectivity to a warehouse right... I decide, my Sierra AC595 is working great in the notebook so let's dig out the old WRT54g3g-ST that's sitting on the shelf for the last 2 years. I follow the thread on EVDO and get Whiterussian 0.9 running on it. Then I find revision 82, the TRX file and decide it wouldn't work with the original one I installed so I updated using the new TRX. All seemed to be going fine and I was returned to a "enter a password" page where I did run into some minor bugs but I got through it. Now when I enter the user name and password the redirect page flashes and sends me to a page not found. Any suggestions? Is there any way to get back to a stock Linksys firmware or an OpenWRT or am I out of luck?

I knew this stuff was a gamble so no great loss if it doesn't work.

Lemme know!!!!!! Smile

Thanks All

Sounds like you need to try TFTP. I think DD-WRT supports that device, it has a nice interface to work with.

Justin, do I just TFTP a single file to the device? Any advice or a thread giving some idea how to do it? I'll search for it too tomorrow.

Thanks for the reply.

I have used DD-WRT on many Linksys routers and have been very happy with it. Under the supported devices it doesn't list the WRT543G, however in the download section they do have it for the 3G.

http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Installation#Flashing_with_TFTP

You can go back to Linksys firmware, try OpenWRT again or try out DD-WRT.

Good luck

Thanks to all for the replies... the tftp didn't work for me but I was able to recover by logging in with SSH and getting the name of another valid page and going to that page to access the interface. I found that the info.sh file (default home page) had different security on it. After resetting the security properties everything works fine. I then enabled the OpenVPN portion and configured the necessary properties. I am thus far very happy with the OpenWRT WR revision. 600k-900k down and 65-115 up...

Thanks again for the help!
