Hello All:
I use an EVDO modem with Verizon Wireless on a PC. Don't have ground highspeed internet connection.
I lose connection frequently. my modem light goes on an off for no apparent reason. and I get the message:
“NOVATEL EVDO DEVICE WAS NOT FOUND ON YOUR COMPUTER. Please ensure the device is available & try again.”
Lots of times when the modem light is on and I start the VZAM to connect to the internet, I get:
“the modem (or other connecting device) is already in use or not configured properly.”
some times unplugging and replugging the modem works but some days i need to restart my computer to get the vzam to connect to the internet.
On April 14th I got disconnceted 9 times. and after 2 of those times I had to restart the computer to get the vzam to connect.
My modem is USB727, had the same problem with an earlier modem
my sw version is 6.10.2.
I have a Dell PC, XP professional with 4GB RAM. My prio PC had XP home version with 4GB RAM and i had ehe same problem.
Thank you for your input
Frustrated

I may have had a similar experience last year. My system was a Dell Latitude laptop running XP Pro. After using VZAM and a Sierra AC595 PC card with no problems, I tried updating to the Novatel USB727. I did make one mistake of loading the new VZAM without first removing the old, but I'm still not convinced that that had anything to do with it. After loading the new VZAM, I was getting annoying disconnects, as well as computer freezes and shutdown problems. Spent several hours on the phone with Verizon tech, but eventually gave up and returned the USB727. Removed all VZAM and PC got back to normal. Interestingly, I have never been able to reload VZAM for my AC595 (probably due to a registry glitch), but luckily found the even better Sierra Watcher for that.
