Does does any one know how to lock the Pantech um175 in rev-a. I am on verizon and my novatel 720 is flopping back and forth from rev-a to national access. Verizon after many phone calls say it's my card. They have sent me the um175 and are going to change it over tomorrow. I have looked and it is compatible with my 350 Cradelpoint. I have locked my 720 in rev-a and it helps but some times it just stops all togather and then picks back up. I don't know if Verizon is wrong and it's the tower, I will want to know how to lock this um175 into rev-a. Do you do it like the 720? is the pass word the same? Thanks for any help.

I'm also on Verizon, with UM175.
In the VZAccess Manager app, before you "Connect", you can
enter CTRL-D to get into diagnostic mode. Password is: diagvzw

Choose the Settings submenu. You'll probably see that the UM175
is set for Automatic.

CDMR only is the low-speed, NationalAccess only mode.
HDR only is the Rev-a high data rate that I think you're looking for.

Set to HDR only, and when you save, you'll be asked to wait
momentarily, while the UM175 updates the setting change.

Then, your next "Connect" will be at high data rate only.

Yes, you can switch back, using same access mechanism.

Hope this helps,

Danl

I have a question: whenever I lock into HDR only mode it works for a few minutes, but then my card keeps disconnecting from the computer. The access manager will say "device not inserted" and I my computer makes the sound when a usb device is removed.

In order to get windows to recognize the device again, I have to unplug it and plug it back in. Sometimes it will last a couple hours without doing this and other times it will do it every couple minutes.

When I am in automatic mode, it will keep switching to national access because for some reason the EVDO signal strength will suddenly go from -85dbi to -120dbi. It just drops right off.

...I tried to post a problem with my modem and for some reason it was mistakenly caught in a spam filter.

Anyway, I have a problem with this modem modem where the blue Internet globe will disappear from my network icon. The modem's flashing blue LED will become a flashing red LED and I will have to disconnect and reconnect the modem to the Y extension cable to regain functionality again.

My computer is a Windows Vista Home Premium x86 SP2 machine and I'm on a different Sprint Reseller for my Internet.

Thank you.
