i had 2 um 150s on a toshiba laptop. then i tried to upgraded to 2 usb 760s. however, i cannot install the vz access manger for the usb on the toshiba laptop 760. a message appears that windows installer may be in safe mode or not working. however i was still able to re install the vz acess manager for the um 150 without a problem. i know the modems are working because they work on another laptop, just they cant install on the toshiba.

is there any one who has any advise, it would be much appreaciated

I also upgraded from the UM150 to the USB760 with Verizon service. I just bought the 760 today and installed it on my MacBook tonight. My Pantech UM150 was not working well, after 13 months, so I got my discounted upgrade.

Anyway, I read that previous versions of VZAM must be fully removed to allow the USB760 to run the VZAM install. However, I downloaded the latest VZAM a few days back, so I left it and plugged in the USB760 to my MacBook (Intel-based) and it works fine. I will test on my Dell laptop soon.

Maybe you have other drivers or connection managers interfering with the auto-install? I'm not sure what logic the USB760 uses to determine whether to perform the install.
