There are two .bin files in the MBR1000 zip file:

u_mbr1000_2009_04_06.bin 1,441,792 bytes
u_modem.bin 742,576 bytes

Please explain why there are two firmware images.

thanks, sbi108

the release notes should make it clear.
if you are going to use a 4g device, the modem file needs to be loaded, in addition to the firmware that provides support for 4g.

The important thing to remember here, is that CradlePoint is protecting your investment. Sure, 4G is only in a few cities, BUT you can be comfortable in knowing that the router that you purchase now will give you options to upgrade to 4G later on and still use the same router that you rely on today.

I really don't know any other companies that offer that to you today.

Hi Alex,

Thanks for the explanation of the two .bin files. I read the release notes twice before I asked the question above. They should add a section about the second install for 4G support. Perhaps that will be there when 1.5.1 shows on the Cradlepoint web support site.

I do appreciate the excellence of Cradlepoint's products, staff and vision and most of all the folks at 3GStore and EVDOForums!

best to all, sbi108
