Even though we love EVDO and EVDO phones (obviously), you can't ignore the iPhone as a very popular and fun device.
I own one myself and love it for many reasons, but as many AT&T users have found, their 3G network isn't nearly as widespread as we'd hope. Unlike some phones, the iPhone doesn't have an RF jack to plug in an antenna. Wireless repeaters work, though, and soon Wilson will be releasing the iBooster: an all-in-one amp system specifically for the iPhone that boosts both voice and data signal!
The iBooster comes with a magnetic mount antenna and a cradle that charges the iPhone while its boosting the signal. It also has a pass-through port so you can still connect the iPhone to speakers/mic/transmitters etc. We will be posting a thorough review of the iBooster and how it performs next week, and it will be available for sale at 3Gstore

I happened to come across this a while back and it looks pretty interesting. I may be interested in this and look forward to your upcoming review. One question I do have is there an option to ditch the magnetic mount antenna and us a directional antenna for a home location?
I'm interested in this because I don't feel like spending another $400 for a wireless repeater setup that will work. I assume you can just leave it in the cradle and use a bluetooth headset with it.
Right now I've decided on a simpler solution at home and its kind of ironic if you think about it. I'm using my Verizon 595U hooked to my KR2 router to emit a wireless signal to my iPhone. To which I have a unlimited Skype US and Canada account setup and use the application Fringe on my iPhone to make calls from my iPhone at home right now. So I use my Verizon account to make calls on my At&t device at home. |

for the money, this is an underpowered "home" solution.
you'd be better off with this signalboost that has more power, and you can easily use with directional dualband panel as receiving antenna. |
