i understand that there are some of you who have experimented with replacing your alltel device's prl info and have achieved substantial speed increases.
my specific question is for those who have NOT done such a thing:
if you take your alltel device to an area where there is no NATIVE alltel EVDO coverage, but there is VERIZON native EVDO coverage -- at what speeds are you allowed to roam? is it EVDO speeds or 1xRTT speeds?
we've taken many calls from alltel customers telling us they roam at 1xRTT and we'd like to see that stated on this forum. thanks. _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas/Routers/Amps :: Verizon EVDO :: Sprint EVDO :: Why Buy from 3Gstore? |

I believe any pre-merger PRL(40029, 40036, etc) should always have 1xRTT when roaming on Verizon. Only get EVDO when roaming on Sprint. |

Well, I changed up the PRL and got Verizon Rev-A in a Alltel native EVDO area.
The good thing was the trade-off of better ping/latency for online games but Alltel still has a greater speed overall. |
