Hi folks,

I just had to re-install windows after a hard drive malfunction. Can anyone tell me if there is a good place to download the latest copy of VZ Access, with aPantech UM175 drivers, aside from vzam.net? I'm on my fourth, maybe it's fifth time trying to download it from the Verizon site, and each time I try andrun the downloadd file, I get "not a valid windows application" error message. That's for the two times when th download didn't stall out on me at various stages.

i've lost my CD while spring cleaning today, and sadly, need a copy of this to manage my Pantech device settings. I won't actually say here what I think of this software's performance.

Thanks.

~Ann

Um, the SW??? ?What is that?

I'm not finding any other locations aside from vzam.net which just gave me my fifth, I'm loosing count, corrupted download of the file, and one site that asked me to enter an unlock code before downloading which it said only lasted for ten minutes. Does anyone have aa direct link to get to download this file? I'm on my back up dial up service, so it takes pages ages to load. Ten minutes from that site, assuming it's a safe, noncorrupted file just won't cut it.

Also, can someone tell me what this file size is supposed to be once downloaded.? I got one file that was about 6 1/2 MB, the next that was 7 1/2 MB, and so on. I"m able to download files from other sites with no problems, except for the slow dial up thing, of course.

Thanks.

Thanks, but that's where i've been getting the corrupted downloads from, the vzam.net site. And, I just got another corrupted download, this one said complete at 8.40 MB. My last try at downloading the file said it was complete at 7.52 MB, and my time before last said complete at around 6.5 MB. Oh man... Mad

I just tested my browser by downloading a small .exe file from some other site tthat I know, and that file was fine. Any suggestions?

What browser are you using to download? If you have a different browser, try that for the download. I occasionally run into your problem downloading with Firefox. I just switch to using Internet Explorer, and that usually takes care of it.

You may also try clearing your browser cache, and reboot your computer.

Didn't you get a Cradlepoint router? Unless you are trying to tweek the modem, you shouldn't need the software.

BTW, I NEVER spring (or summer, fall or winter) clean to prevent the exact problem that you are having Very Happy

NO, no router, just the modem.I can't afford a routere just yet.

The latest version of Firefox won't download the file at all,and Internet Explorer keeps giving me corrupted downloads. I have cleared the cash, rebooted the computer, but still no luck. The file downloads to a certain point, then either just stops and says it's complete or it resumes the download from the very beginning. No other site does this, just the download from the vzam site.

Okay, I'm an idiot, and not just because I didn't get the whole SW thing. Laughing After struggling with a file that never would download on dial up last night, I found the blasted CD.

Thanks for all the advice, guys. Smile

tate886,
"...an idiot", I think not. Most all of us have been in your position at one time or another, not being able to find the install CD and unable to download the needed drivers. Frustrations can overcome even the IT professionals at times. Smile
