First off this forum is awesome and the people that take the time to offer their advice are awesome as well.

Okay here is the situation...

I live in a somewhat rural area, about 35 mins from a city of 100+ thousand people, and about 8 miles from a town of 4000 or so...

Ive had Sprint Mobile Broadband for 9 months now or so, and Ive only been able to get 1xrtt... which isn't great but is leaps and bounds better than the dial-up i had for a year prior to getting sprint.

3 days ago I got on the comp and started up sprint smartveiw and noticed it said REV0 in the corner and stayed for a few secs after i connected... then went back to 1xrtt...I figured it was an error because i had never seen anything other than 1xrtt...

so last night I was messing around with the direction my " cantenna" was pointed to get the -83dbm i usually get. I went and messed around with some stuff in the yard and then when to get on the comp...

It was picking up a roaming REV0 signal of about 40%...So i got online and pulled up youtube to test how fast a video loaded and it loaded very quickly, not like with 1xrtt where it takes 5 mins to load a 1 minute video..
( i know i should have ran a speed test, but youtube was my homepage so yea sorry lol)

the connection stayed for a while, then went down to -100dbm, and then started picking up 1xrtt again. I havent seen this elusive REV0 since... But am hopeful now because now there is a change i can get rev0.

Now my questions...

Everything Ive read indicated that roaming wont cost anymore than normal, and is just a warning... True?

What should I do to catch this rev0 signal? Antennas? boosters?

I am going to continue to research what the best thing to do is and hopefuly you all can give me some advice on HOW TO CATCH THIS SIGNAL!!! Very Happy

BTW, I have a compass597 if you need to know lol.

Sounds like you are virtually on the cusp of EVDO. What you would probably need is a Wilson Amplifier (3 watt) to get that signal.
