I have recently moved to Westminster S.C. and where I am located I have no access to DSL or Cable. Thus I am using my Verizon USB 720 Modem. I did a test on Speedtest.net and it gave me these results:

I used the recommended server for testing which was in Colorado. The closer server in Greenville SC gave similar but slightly less results.

1908 KB/S Download and 472 KB/S Upload using my external antenna.

2493 KB/S Download and 461 KB/S Upload WITHOUT using my external antenna.

I get -54 dBm without using my external modem
I get -46 dBm with using my external antenna.

These results are confusing to me.

So I would like your input regarding these results.
Are they good? How can I make them better?

Not sure about the download/upload speeds, but you ARE actually getting a better signal with the antenna. Search this forum for an explanation of RSSI, the -46 dBi actually indicates a better signal than the -54. Good luck!

if you are getting the downloads without the antenna I would return the antenna or not use it... you signal with the antenna and cabling could be showing better signal because of noise that you are picking up!! if I were you I would be satisfied with the speeds without the antenna ....they won't get much better no matter what you do !!
