|
|
I wanted to check my RSSI but realize that when I use the Cradlepoint router I cannot access anything in the VZAccess Manager. In fact it says I am not connected yet I am online. I need the router so my wife can WIFI with her laptop. Just wondered what I am doing wrong or if this is normal.
Thanks |

The VZACCESS Manager is independent of the Cradlepoint router. The answer to your question is NO the VZAccess Manager will not work when you have the data card pluged into your router.
You can view your RSSI if your card/router supports it by going to the routers admin page http://192.168.0.1 and then after logging in click on STATUS>MODEM INFO or DEVICE INFO |

Hello Glen,
This is entirely normal. The VZ access manager cannot read information from the modem when it is plugged into the router.
There is a workaround for checking your RSSI through the router.
Simply log into the router administration page (192.168.0.1, unless you changed the router's IP address) and enter the password (last 6 digits of the MAC address on the bottom of the router) and click on the status page. This should display the Signal strength in Bars. On the MBR-1000 and CTR-500, if you go to the modem tab, on the device information page it lists your RSSI number in -dBm. |

Thank you
Another concern then is I notice even if I shut off my primary computer, my wife still has access to the WIFI. This is great but will Verizon shoot me for leaving a always on connection? I mean it seems once the router is logged in, it remains logged in indefinitely. (?)
Thanks |
