Port Redirect for iPhone Webcam App

I have a KR1 with a PC5750 Verizon card. I want to run an iPhone app that will connect to my home iMac/iSight webcam to monitor home-happenin's. Evidently, its not as plug as play as everybody else's experience. I have managed to get wifi working on the KR1 and can make the app work when both the iPhone and the iMac are set on wifi. Problem is, it won't work on 3G or at another wifi spot, you know, when I'm not home...

Their support advised that I enable port forwarding on my desktop app and "...set my router ports range to 12000-12100". What in the world does that mean? I've not been able to find KR1 info like this on Google or here at evdoforums. I've been poking around in the KR1 settings for quite some time and have some up with nothing. Can't tell the difference between Trigger ports and Public ports and etc etc.

Anybody use webcams like this one their KR1 and have to redirect ports?
