Seems like I am back to dial up.
Did a speed test:
Download - 0
Upload - 379
Ping - 403
RSST (while doing the speed test) 60/61

Many (almost all) sites are very slow to load
YouTubes are choppy and if I hit pause on them and let the whole clip load it takes a very long time.

And I did a search but after looking at several pages that didn't help then I posted.
Verizon service with a USB720

any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks for any help!

Happens to me also.

Once in a while even though the signal is good everything just seems to slow down and even stops. It can sometimes last an hour but it always goes back to normal. It has happened at random times anytime of the day or night.

So I'm just saying it should pass. It can be annoying though.

Something similar happened to me the other day. Said i was still connected to broadband rev-a and with -76 connection but everything was super slow.

Checked for updates through access manager.. none.

I uninstalled vzaccess manager then re-installed it said something needed to be updated, cant remember now, and after it was done everything was back to normal.

Part of the reason could be due to Traffic Congestion or PRL out of date attempt to insert the modem in your computer and do a PRL update with the verizon wireless access manager. Go to Options and Activations then try to connect and see what happens.

If that did not work then you can be experiencing traffic congestion,

if you have a laptop try another cellsite across town, it could also be your tower is having problems in your area and in this case call verizon

More than likely just a congestion issue. Especially in large metro areas, I see somewhat decreased speeds on the weekends, holidays, etc. This doesn't necessarily mean that there are a bunch of bandwidth hogs on the network, but you do have to take into account of all the people that are using their phones/PDAs/Blackberries to also use the EVDO network. Throw in about 10 or 20 people that are running bandwidth intensive streaming or other data products on their phones, it's going to slow everyone down eventually.

It should pass. If not, give Verizon technical support a call and they'll look into it. When I was in Washington DC once, I had a lot of decreased speed issues, but after a day or so it was taken care of. As to it being resolved as a result of my call, who knows.
