V740 OSX sighup - random disconnect

I just recently started having the v740 disconnect randomly on my mac running 10.5.6. The ppp log shows this:

I have not updated drivers, os, or any sw. The connection is not idle either when it drops. Not sure what is going on. Has happened 4x today.

Has anyone seen this issue?
